Boblo Island (1898-1993)

It had been well over 20 years since I had last been to Boblo Island. Back then it was a fully operational amusement park. Recently, a couple friends (23 Photography and RC Photography) and I spent the day exploring and photographing what is left of the island's former glory.

Area 53 - 2011 - Photo #36

I didn't shoot much last week. I went out to a spot in Amherstburg to shoot an approaching storm but it changed directions and I missed it. So I tried again to shoot some IR (Infrared) photos. I still haven't really figured it out, but I liked this shot of a mostly covered barn/shed.

Area 53 - 2011 - Photo #31

I'm a day late again. Not good reason, I was just busy yesterday and kind of forgot it was Monday. Anyway, I have something a little different this week. I recently bought a cheap IR (Infrared) filter last week so I've been trying to figure that out. I'm still struggling to get good results with it as it requires insanely long exposure time.

This photo was about 2 minutes long in the sunlight, and it still came out a little dark. I had to lighten it a lot and apply quite a bit of noise reduction in Lightroom. I also toned down the saturation a lot because everything comes out very red.
